Show new and old price in minicart.

you mean the compare_at_price?
Thats sadly not possible because shopify does not has this Information in the cart object. You can only whach for discounts - but not for compare at prices 😦

yes thats the problem.. thats not a "discount" its a compare at price. And this information does not exist in the cart

not really. You can try using the weight field for that. This information you get in the mini cart response.
Depends if you need the weight somewhere else
