Welcome to the Liquify Community

General feeling from Liquify?

Hi all, we're seriously considering diving deep in to Liquify for our eCommerce tech solution. But before that I wanted to ask the community some questions:

  • Are there are any frustrating limitations you've encountered?
  • Do external libraries work properly? (ie. GSAP, SwiperJS, Finsweet Attributes, etc)
  • Does it handle websites with lots of collections well? (ie. blogs, knowledge centre, etc.)
  • Once the webflow site is developed, does configuring liquify and connecting everything in Shoppify take a long time?
Hope this post is allowed, please let me know otherwise. Very much appreciate any insights!

Hi @Dylan H., yes. its absolutely allowed 🙂
This is an answer from one of the founders! 😉 Maybe others in the community can help too:

• Not yet! Liquify works with Liquid, so the limits are the same as Shopify’s.
• External libraries work.
• Yes, since it’s a Shopify theme, the limits are Shopify’s.
• It depends on how complex it is. Using the starter theme can make things much faster.
@Jan any thoughts on this
Hey, happy to chip in here:
  • I don't really have the contrast to something like Udesly, but generally liquify has less restriction. You are essentially just writing Liquid, so you can do almost anything.
  • I've used all of these in different projects and they work as expected. Only something like CMS Load does not work properly, but that's because of Webflows pagination.
  • As Jonas said, the limitations lie with Liquid, but large blog filtering with F'insweet works fine for example
  • If you keep some Liquid principles in mind, then it shouldn't add a lot of extra work. :)
