Hi, I'm building a Shopify site for a client and have a question before choosing which tool to use for Webflow to Shopify theme conversion.
I have previously built a Webflow to Shopify theme, and initially I wanted to try the Smootify plugin to sync between Webflow and Shopify. However, because of using a frontend app (a product customization app similar to Zakeke, gokickflip, Teeinblue, etc), Smootify was unfortunately not going to work. I ended up using Udesly Nexus which mostly worked fine for that project.
But this time I'm open to trying a different tool instead, and Liquify Pro definitely caught my attention. So, I would love to know if those product customization frontend apps will work with this solution, or will I need to keep looking?
Hey @Rowan, Liquify should generally work with any app, because you just create a default theme file. But I'm not too familiar with the apps you named. Can you give me an idea of how you implement the app?
I’m honestly not sure exactly how they work. From what I can remember, the apps put a short code on the product pages to run a product customizer (add logo, text, images onto the product) directly on the product page. From memory, the solution for using Udesly was to enable the app integration in the theme settings. Uselooop.com says this in their FAQ with regard to shopify apps: “However, apps that run on you frontend/Shopify website will need to be custom developed on your Webflow site.”
Alright. We already have tested a lot of Shopify apps with Liquify stores that worked as expected. So as long as you just have to put in some code or a div with attributes, then the app should work fine. But I guess the best way to find out is to just try it :)
Hi @Rowan, thanks for you question. The way jan described it is one way. Liquify supports also app blocks. So if your App supports App blocks, you can also add it directly.
@jonas.halbstark @Jan how would you compare Liquify to other options like Udesly, UseLooop, Shopyflow, etc? I’m not really a Shopify master and don’t understand the technical details. Is there differences or benefits and pros or cons? Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.
Obviously I'm biased, so you can take it with a grain of salt. But generally speaking: These other apps are probably a bit easier and faster to understand, but limit you to a set amount of features. Liquify takes more time to understand (Especially because you should learn Shopify Liquid), but you are more flexible in the end with things like apps, Shopify 2.0, and so on.
