@Kevin you could try using a javascript which checks if a user is logged in or not and has a specific tag. And if the user has not it will be redirected to the home page: {% unless customer.tags contains 'admin' %}

Sadly no. Passwort protection will always be for the entire store. The only way it would work, is via a custom js based on the logged in users tags. Like in the example.
